Northern Ireland Opera returns to the picturesque village of Glenarm in County Antrim for the seventh annual Festival of Voice, from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th August 2017.

Don’t miss three free-to-attend recitals in partnership with BBC Radio 3, featuring some of the UK’s finest singers and musicians, including last year’s Festival of Voice winner, Malachy Frame.

18th – Toby Spence (tenor) and Joseph Middleton (piano)

19th – Jennifer Johnston (mezzo-soprano), Malachy Frame (baritone, Voice of 2016) & Joseph Middleton (piano)

20th – Gavan Ring (baritone) and Simon Lepper (piano)

*Tickets for the BBC Radio 3 Invitation Recitals will be allocated by random draw, and must be booked in advance. Tickets will be available from from the week beginning Monday 17th July. Doors open 30 minutes before the recital begins.

Glens of Antrim Singing Explorers Finale Concert | St. Patrick’s Church of Ireland, Glenarm | Free admission 

After a week long programme of fun, games and rehearsals, come along and watch the Glens of Antrim Singing Explorers, a choir made up of local school children, as they perform alongside Northern Ireland Opera’s Young Artists. Previous concerts have included traditional favourites like The Gypsy Rover, The Rattlin’ BogThe Blue Hills of Antrim, and much more!

The School for Lovers | Londonderry Arms Hotel, Carnlough | £10

Working with a small team and a piano, the Studio of Northern Ireland Opera gives you the chance to get up close and personal to great opera, so join some of the island’s most talented emerging artists for a bite-sized version of Mozart’s opera of love, temptation and partner-swapping, Così fan tutte.

Tickets for The School for Lovers will be available from the Londonderry Arms Hotel on the day of performance.

Festival of Voice 2017 Gala Final | Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glenarm | £10 / £5 Students

Join us on Sunday evening for the culmination of this year’s Festival of Voice – the Gala Final. Hosted by renowned broadcaster Sean Rafferty, this competition features five of the brightest young singing talents from across Ireland, performing arias, duets and songs, for the chance to be crowned ‘Northern Ireland Opera Voice of 2017’.

This year’s finalists will be: Rory Dunne (bass-baritone) from County Kildare; Peter Harris (tenor) from County Armagh; Carolyn Holt (mezzo-soprano) from County Kildare; Elaine McDaid (soprano) from County Londonderry; and Tim Shaffrey (baritone) from Dublin.

Tickets for the Festival of Voice 2017 Gala Final will be available on the door, on a first come first served basis.
