One of the shortest operas regularly performed (the piece lasts for less than 15 minutes), A Hand of Bridge is set during a bridge match and features introspective monologues given by the four players. The thoughts of the players range from the mundane to the meaningful, and the amusing to the anodyne, resulting in an entertaining and richly-layered piece.
Three of NI Opera’s Young Artists will perform in this new production of A Hand of Bridge. Our fourth Young Artists – Eugene Monteith – conducts.
